We currently have a vacancy for a committed and enthusiastic individual to complement the established unit/team in delivering high quality care that is rapidly adapting to meet the needs of the patient and the development of the unit.

Experience of each specialty is not essential as a training package is available and full support will be given to applicants.

Thisis a permanent post in Main Theatres. The department operates 24/7 365 days ayear including bank holidays.

Weare looking for a dedicated, flexible and well-motivated qualified Operating Department Practitioner/theatre practitioner with a keen interest in working in the theatre department.

Main duties of the job

Thepost holder will be required to work all out of hours shifts, these include nights, afters and weekends.

This is a permanent post in Main Theatres. The department operates 24/7365 days a year including bank holidays.

Youwill be expected to attend the resuscitation unit in A & E and be part ofthe hospital arrest team.

Candidates must have good organisational skills, excellent interpersonal skillsand a willingness to develop their own professional knowledge

Youwill work in a clinical environment of 9 main theatres and 1 emergency obstetric theatre.

Specialities are in the following fields:

  • Possession of a mentoring qualification / ability to work towards.
Knowledge and Awareness

  • Compliance with Mandatory training.
  • Knowledge of quality, audit and its application.
