About the PostBarnsley MBC is committed to ending rough sleeping. We are establishing a new team to provide personalised trauma‑informed support to people who are rough sleeping or at risk, either at our residential unit or in the community.
This role covers staff absences, providing duty cover at the residential unit. Working 6 to 11 hour shifts, shifts are lone working.
Shift Times Requiring Cover- 2pm – 10pm, 7 days a week
- 8am – 2:30pm, Saturday and Sunday
- 9:30pm – 8:30am, 7 days a week
- Act as the first point of contact for the homeless out‑of‑hours emergency line and ensure safety of residents and site security.
- Provide duty cover at the residential unit.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with the team.
- Demonstrate empathy, patience and persistence when working with people with a range of needs and behaviours.
- Work independently and uphold service standards.
- Relevant experience working with a similar customer group (homeless/rough sleeping).
- Experience with trauma‑informed, evidence‑based approaches.
- Good communication skills.
- Capability to work lone working and on own initiative.
- Completed DBS check (Enhanced).
- Appropriate legal documents for work in the UK;
