Hydraulics Engineer - Barnsley

Are you a hands-on Hydraulics Engineer who prefers being on site as much as in the office?
Do you enjoy commissioning and fault-finding on large mechanical systems?
Would you like to work on complex projects such as moving bridges, lock gates and roller coasters?

What will you be doing?
Commissioning hydraulic systems on site
Fault-finding and resolving hydraulic issues
Carrying out isolations and working under permit systems
Supporting installation and hands-on delivery of mechanical handling equipment
Producing and reviewing hydraulic schematics and technical documentation
Working closely with mechanical and electrical engineers to deliver full turnkey projects

This is a genuinely practical role, split roughly 50/50 between site and office. You'll be involved from installation through to final commissioning, taking ownership of hydraulic performance on complex mechanical handling systems.

Where you'll be doing it?
You'll be based in Barnsley with a specialist engineering business delivering full turnkey mechanical handling projects. They design, manufacture and install large-scale moving structures including bridges, lock gates and roller coasters. Projects are varied, technically challenging and highly visible.

What you'll need:
Strong experience with industrial hydraulic systems
Proven commissioning and fault-finding experience
Confidence working on site, including permits and isolations
Ability to read and interpret hydraulic schematics
A practical, problem-solving approach
Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
