Job Description

Market Leading Food Manufacturer now looking to recruit...

BASED SOUTH YORKSHIRE

FULL TIME PERMANENT ROLE

Our client is looking for a dedicated and proactive Safety Health & Environment (SHE) Advisor to join their team at the South Yorkshire site. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in maintaining a safe, compliant and sustainable workplace in a fast‑paced food manufacturing environment.

ROLE

As the SHE Advisor you’ll report into and support the SHE Manager in implementing and developing the site’s Safety, Health & Environmental Management System. This hands‑on role focuses on preventing workplace injuries and illnesses, improving safety culture and ensuring full legal and company compliance. You will also act as the site’s competent person in the absence of the SHE Manager, providing guidance and leadership across all departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the reduction of SHE risks and hazards across the site.
  • Help the site achieve and maintain legal compliance.
  • Deliver engaging health & safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, audits and risk assessments.
  • Lead and document incident investigations and root cause analyses.
  • Provide practical SHE advice and support across all departments.
  • Manage and audit contractors, visitors and permits to work.
  • Support group SHE initiatives, campaigns and compliance audits.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure strong document control.
  • Liaise with external authorities and stakeholders as required.
  • Deputise for the SHE Manager and contribute to wider SHE forums.
CANDIDATE Profile

You’ll be an experienced and confident SHE professional with the ability to engage, influence and drive a positive safety culture. You’ll thrive in a hands‑on, fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH or equivalent).
  • Environmental qualification (IEMA or similar).
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role within manufacturing or FMCG.
  • Strong understanding of BS ISO 45001 and environmental management systems.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and influencing skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive and people‑focused approach.
WHY WORK FOR THIS COMPANY

You’ll be part of a business that values how they work as much as what they achieve. They offer a supportive culture where your contribution really matters.
