A message from the Principal…

As Principal at Outwood Primary Academy Darfield, I am delighted to share with you what makes our academy so special. Nestled in the heart of the village of Darfield, our one‑form entry school offers a unique and nurturing learning environment for children.

Darfield retains a strong sense of community, a legacy from its rich history. This close‑knit spirit is something we cherish and weave into the fabric of our school. At Outwood Primary Academy Darfield, we believe that a strong partnership between school, home and the wider community is essential for every child’s success.

Being part of the Outwood Family of schools is something we’re incredibly proud of at Outwood Primary Academy Darfield. This trust is known for its dedication to raising standards and transforming lives, and that same sense of family and support is at the heart of our academy.

We're a dedicated team, passionate about providing the very best education, nurturing personal development, and ensuring every child reaches their full potential. We believe every interaction matters, and our warm and welcoming community fosters a culture of praise and encouragement, celebrating both big achievements and small steps forward for pupils and staff.

If you’re a committed and enthusiastic individual who shares our values and is driven to help children thrive, we’d love to hear from you. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment that values reflective practice and innovation, where your contributions will be valued and your own growth nurtured. Join our team of like‑minded professionals and make a real difference.

Key Stage

As a Key Stage 2 teacher working within our family of schools, you will support children aged 7‑11 in developing deeper knowledge and critical thinking through a broad and balanced curriculum, fostering independence, resilience and a love for learning in preparation for secondary education.

In joining our family of schools, you will be appointed to a school within a local area (see below) and we will work with you to offer deployment to a school that is suitable for you geographically, and that matches your skillset, development and the needs of the school. This brings opportunity and flexibility should you wish to consider working in other schools that bring different challenges and experiences to further develop your practice and input to a wider community.

Deployments will always be in consultation and for full academic years unless in exceptional circumstances.
