About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teacher to join our specialist team. This is within a SEMH school based in Barnsley, supporting pupils aged 11-18 with a range of SEN needs, including ADHD, challenging behaviours and autism.

- Plan and deliver engaging lessons, working with small groups and individual students.
- Create tailored teaching materials, take registers, and write detailed progress reports.
- Support students in building confidence and independence, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively while maintaining strong communication with parents and carers.
- Incorporate outdoor activities into learning, where appropriate, to enhance student engagement and development.
- Ensure the safeguarding and welfare of all students underpin every decision and action.
- Deliver high-quality teaching across multiple curriculum subjects, adapting strategies to meet individual needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and contribute to the Annual Review of EHCPs.
- Attend and contribute to PEP reviews, ensuring targets are achieved and the pupil’s voice is heard.
- A passionate and committed approach to supporting students with SEND.
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a SEND environment, specialist provision, or similar setting.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (essential).
- Experience with outdoor activities and interventions (advantageous).
- Strong behaviour management skills and an understanding of trauma‑informed approaches.
