Looking for a rewarding, fast-paced role where no two days are the same? A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Barnet is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join their team on a full-time, temporary basis from March 2026.

This role is ideal for graduates, aspiring teachers, experienced teaching assistants, or education professionals who enjoy working with young people and want to gain hands-on classroom experience across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including supporting students with Special Educational Needs. You’ll be an essential part of the school day, ensuring learning continues smoothly in the absence of teaching staff.

About the Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Supervise whole classes during planned and unplanned teacher absence

• Deliver pre-prepared lesson materials across a range of subjects

• Maintain a positive, purposeful learning environment

• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

• Support students of varying abilities, including SEND learners

• Work closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support student wellbeing

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

• Be confident managing a classroom and engaging secondary-aged students

• Have strong communication and organisation skills

• Be reliable, adaptable and calm under pressure

• Have previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience preferred)

• Be passionate about education and making a difference
