Main duties of the job
This is a full-time (40 hours per week) post based at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Dermatology Department. The Dermatology Department at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospital busy and dynamic, both units provide care both for the local population in North Central London and to a much larger network around North London, and the Home Counties.
As dermatology clinical fellow you will be expected to look after patients with skin disease in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. You will work with a team of trainees and consultants.
Applicants should hold MRCP or equivalent and should be registered with the GMC.
The RFL is a large specialist skin cancer unit and tertiary referral center, able to provide specialist treatment for skin cancers which include the following:
- Patients with melanoma - wide local excision and sentinel lymph node biopsy, and further management with targeted and immunotherapies for patients with advanced disease.
- Patients with non-melanoma skin cancer requiring Mohs micrographic surgery as well as immunotherapy/systemic treatment
- Weekly joint multidisciplinary decision to treat skin cancer clinic alongside clinical oncology and plastic surgery
- Tertiary referral clinic for the management of cutaneous lymphoma
The dermatology service functions as a multi-disciplinary team working across the three major sites of the Trust (The Royal Free, Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals.
- Adult and paediatric dermatology services (community, secondary and tertiary care)
- Specialist medical dermatology clinics (Psoriasis, Eczema, Connective Tissue Disease, Hair and Nail, Vulval and Urticaria)
- Joint GUM/Dermatology, Immunology/Dermatology, Psoriasis/Rheumatologyand Connective Tissue/Rheumatology clinicso Phototherapy (narrow band UVB and PUVA)
- Two week wait skin cancer clinicso Diagnostic, intermediate and advanced skin surgery
- Mohs surgery
- Teledermatology clinicso Skin allergy and patch testing clinicso Photodynamic therapy clinicso Psychodermatologyo Renal/Liver transplant and immunosuppression skin clinics
- GMC Registration
- MRCP part 2 written and/or MSc in Dermatology and/or previous experience in in Dermatology (at least 1 year)
- Ability to demonstrate broad clinical skills in the management of all patients
- 18 months general professional training experience at SHO level in general medicine
- Skills in common generic practical procedure
- Evidence of academic excellence
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Willing to take on responsibility
- Good general health physically able to carry out the duties of the post

£65,048 a yearper annum plus £2,162 London Weighting
