Our client is a highly respected Top 20 accountancy firm known for their excellence in client service and professional development opportunities. Due to continued growth and success, they are looking to strengthen their team with a talented Accountant.
The OpportunityYou’ll work within a dynamic practice environment, managing a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors. This role offers genuine career progression within a Top 20 firm, along with exposure to complex and varied accounting work.
Key Responsibilities- Preparation of management accounts for a varied client portfolio
- Completion and submission of VAT Returns and CIS Returns
- Processing sales and purchase ledgers across multiple clients
- Managing prepayments, accruals, and month-end procedures
- Conducting bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate financial records to Trial Balance level
- Delivering Xero training and software advisory services to clients
- Supporting and reviewing outsourced team members
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Proven experience working within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT procedures, and management accounting
- Proficiency with accounting software including Xero, Sage, and IRIS
- Advanced MS Office skills
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong IT capabilities and adaptability to new systems
- Ability to manage own workload, prioritise effectively, and work to tight deadlines
- Professional qualifications (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or part-qualified)
- Experience in client training and staff mentoring
- Background in reviewing outsourced operations
