Job Summary
This position is responsible for supervising and participating in the work of personnel engaged in the maintenance of college buildings and facilities, including dorms, instructional buildings, athletic facilities, and food service locations.
Responsibilities
Supervision and Coordination
Supervises and participates in the work of HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems as well as carpentry and general maintenance.
Coordinates and prioritizes work projects.
Utilizes computerized work system to assign, report, schedule work projects and create various reports.
Provides training to personnel in safe and efficient work practices, methods, tools and equipment usage.
Supervises and participates in setting up tables, chairs, podiums, stages and other elements for college functions.
Supervises and participates in the installation and relocation of furniture, computers, file cabinets, and office equipment.
Maintenance and Repair Work
Performs routine maintenance and service to operate, maintain, and repair buildings, machinery, and equipment.
Fabricates and repairs mechanical and electrical apparatus and devices.
Assists in the upkeep of mechanical rooms.
Responds to maintenance service calls for residents of campus housing.
Administrative and Communication
Communicates with campus stakeholders.
Completes required reports and documentation.
Coordinates the purchase of equipment, parts and supplies.
Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
* High School Diploma or equivalent.
* Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
* Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience.
* This position will be responsible for P-card for purchases.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
* Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
* Knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions associated with the work.
* Knowledge of the installation, repair and maintenance of HVAC and other mechanical systems.
* Knowledge of plumbing and electrical system installation, maintenance and repair.
* Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
* Skill in decision making and problem solving.
* Skill in oral and written communication.
* Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
