Summary:
Primary job is to function as a Paramedic conducting patient care from an ambulance. Time permitting, responsible for daily supervision of EMS field operations in the absence of senior management. Ensures adequate zone coverage, compliance, and serves as Ameri Pro EMS’s liaison with outside responding agencies and personnel.
- Patient care
- Supervise day-to-day field operation employees in the absence of senior management
- Ensure field employees have the required equipment
- Serve as liaison for field staff to other departments (Training, CQI, Payroll, HR, Billing, Communications)
- Prepare appropriate reports in the absence of senior management
- Ensure adherence to Ameri Pro EMS policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards
- Ensure adherence to Patient Care Protocols
- Evaluate performance of employees, maintain attendance records, and promote professionalism
- Monitor deployment and efficiency of the system; decisions on IFT, Mutual Aid, and Out-of-town trips in absence of senior management
- Manage day-to-day short-term scheduling
- Ensure TEFs are turned into Operations Supervisor
- Deliver RTF paperwork to employees on duty
- Ensure daily duties (truck cleaning, station duties, check-offs) are performed
- First contact for OJIs, complaints; start initial investigations and forward to Operations Supervisor
- Complete daily shift report
- Lead and train new employees and students
- Perform duties in alignment with financial and operational plans for cost effectiveness
- Respond to scenes with crews and assume command during Mass Casualty Incidents until relieved by senior management
- Attend regular planning meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Demonstrate ability to lift, transfer, and move patients safely
REQUIRED Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years EMS field experience (preferred)
- State-specific Paramedic license in good standing / current NREMT certification if required by state
- Current CPR certifications: BLS, ACLS, PCC/PALS
- Valid state-specific driver’s license
- Successful completion of a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong people skills and ability to collaborate within a team
- Proficient verbal and written communication in English
- Ventilator certified every three years
- Successful completion of a written and practical exam
- FEMA IS certs: IS-100; IS-200; IS-700; IS-800
