About Us

In this setting, students receive individualized attention that only a small college with dedicated faculty and staff can provide.

Job Summary

This position performs specialized duties in support of the college’s accounts payable functions.

Responsibilities
  • Processes invoices for payment.
  • Resolves discrepancies between invoices and statements, purchase orders, and shipments.
  • Verifies expense reports for reimbursement.
  • Identifies and communicates to department personnel concerning lost or delayed expense reimbursements.
  • Routes miscellaneous invoices to departments for approval of payment.
  • Trains faculty and staff on the use of the travel and expense system.
  • Answers telephone; provides information and assistance.
  • Prepares weekly accounts payable and expense reimbursement checks.
  • Reviews daily deposits made by the Bursar Office.
  • Executes monthly p‑card statement journal entries for posting.
  • Reconciles accounts payable accounts at month‑and‑year‑end.
  • Processes 1099 forms.
  • Verifies new vendor information with the IRS.
  • Processes voids and stop payments.
  • Performs related duties.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree in accounting, finance or related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one year.
  • This role is considered a position of trust.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Prior USG or higher education experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Knowledge of computers and job‑related software programs.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of college accounts payable policies and procedures.
  • Skill in the provision of customer services.
  • Skill in decision making and problem solving.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public.
  • Skill in oral and written communication.
