Wastewater Foreman

Summary

Maintains the operation of WWTP(S), collection system and assists in mechanical repairs. To perform a variety of duties both skilled and semi‑skilled. Collect samples, perform compliance testing and record data daily.

• Maintain plants and collection system operations
• Collect samples, perform compliance testing and record data daily
• Oversee and/or maintain preventative maintenance, maintenance on equipment and repair malfunctions at WWTP and collection system
• Oversee and/or performs ground keeping duties as assigned to include but not limited to mowing, weed eating and general yard work
• Work an on‑call schedule, emergency calls and weekends as needed
• Keep records in reporting software
• Assist in training and mentoring new utility staff, sharing expertise and fostering a collaborative, safety‑first work environment
• Complete other duties as assigned

• 5+ years of experience in utility inspection, maintenance, or a related field
• Comprehensive knowledge of utility infrastructure, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
• Proven experience in operations management and leadership within a utility or municipal setting
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, staff, and community members
• Proficiency in record‑keeping and reporting software, with attention to accuracy and detail
• Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in a variety of field and office environments
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to safety protocols
• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands and arms
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crawl
• Work in outdoor weather conditions, including extreme heat or cold, and near moving mechanical parts
• Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds
