Title: Ship/Rec/Warehouse C Material Handler
Department: Warehouse
Immediate Supervisor: Warehouse Manager
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt

Position

Purpose:

Safely and efficiently performs duties essential to the operations of the warehouse related to the receipt, shipment, storage, distribution, or delivery of products, parts, and materials.

• Verifies materials against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages.
• Maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
• Routes materials to prescribed storage locations, storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods.
• Rearranges and takes inventory of stored material as directed.
• Safe and effective operation of any-and-all forklifts to complete daily duties.
• Thoroughly inspect trailers for damage.
• Prepare documents such as bill of ladings or Commercial Invoices.
• Perform data entry in AS400 system and AMMS.
• Record keeping per company’s operating procedures.
• Coordinate with LTL carriers for inbound and outbound freight.
• Obtain quotes from carriers as needed.
• Inventory control and cycle counts.
• Supports other department staff as directed.
• Move, consolidate, and inventory, finished goods and raw materials.
• Related tasks as requested by Plant Supervision.

• Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.
• Ability to work in a fast pace, very stressful work environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift to meet production needs.
• Ability to pass forklift operator training test in both written and hands on form.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondences in English.
• Must be team oriented, self-motivated individual.
• Ability to work overtime on weekends as needed.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to frequently move and/or lift up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office/Word. AS400 knowledge required.
• Working knowledge of FIFO system, maintaining inventory, and cycle counting.
• Prior warehouse/shipping experience is preferred but not required.
