* Description:

** As a (Senior) Claims Counsel / Handler, based in our Barcelona office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals, focused on managing and analysing D&O, E&O, Crime, Cyber, W&I and EPL claims.
** Responsibilities:
*** Adjustment of a portfolio of Financial Lines claims, including: D&O, E&O, Crime, Cyber, W&I and EPL claims.
* Open and maintain claims files in electronic claims management system and ECF.
* Correspond with external stakeholders on claims developments.
* Monitor claims developments and report on them internally to management.
* Attend market meetings.
* Retain and manage external counsel, loss adjusters and other vendors.
* Set reserves.
* Negotiate settlements.
* Process payments.
* Identify and track claims trends impacting the book and/or wider market.
* Liaise with underwriting teams on individual claims, wording issues and claims trends.
* Participate in audits.
* Provide claims related training to underwriters.
* Speak at internal and external claims related events.
* Attend external talks and conferences.
* Travel for claims meetings, internal events, conferences and marketing events.
* Assist underwriters with the preparation of renewal presentations and pitches for new business.
** Requirements:
*** Native level English (additional languages an advantage).
* Claims handling, policy coverage or insurance litigation work experience, gained either working in-house or for a law firm or as a loss adjuster.
* Applicants with other relevant insurance industry or legal work experience considered.
* Familiarity with London market practices and procedures.
