Context

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation was established in 2008 with the mission of promoting and developing cutting-edge biomedical research. The Foundation is fully committed to making a decisive contribution to global solutions for Alzheimer's and other dementias, as well as raising public awareness of these diseases.

The Foundation's research is carried out at the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center (BBRC), a research center established with the participation of Pompeu Fabra University and the "la Caixa" Foundation.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation's vision is to achieve a future without Alzheimer's, within a framework of active and healthy aging, associated with positive experiences and free from cognitive decline. To this end, BBRC's research focuses on the primary and secondary prevention of the disease, made possible by the voluntary participation of thousands of people who contribute to scientific studies that will allow for a significantly lower number of people affected in the near future.

The Pasqual Maragall Foundation is a private, non-profit organization. Its financial resources come from philanthropic donations from organizations and companies, as well as from an extensive network of over 100,000 members who contribute to funding research.
