💼 About the Role

As a Sr.
Engineering Manager
, your mission is to lead and grow a high-performing engineering team, fostering technical excellence while delivering impactful solutions that drive Murphy’s growth. You’ll be responsible for aligning team output with product goals, ensuring engineering quality, and supporting each engineer’s personal and professional development. You’ll play a key role in scaling both our platform and our team.

Today, you’ll be joining a fast-moving group of 12 engineers across backend, frontend, AI and infrastructure. Over the next year, we’re planning to scale the organization to nearly 30 engineers, and you will be instrumental in shaping the structure, culture, and processes that make this growth successful.

📝 Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers.
  • Set clear goals, manage performance, and foster career development.
  • Ensure strong communication within engineering teams, organize team rituals, and maintain alignment on priorities and goals.
  • Ruthlessly prioritize work to drive focus, eliminate distractions, and deliver meaningful results
  • Work closely with Product, Bussiness, and Engagment to define and execute the roadmap.
  • Contribute to technical decisions and provide hands‑on support if needed.
  • Help recruit and onboard new team members as we grow.
  • Have regular one‑on‑ones with engineers, where you will set expectations, provide regular feedback and keep team members accountable.
  • Identify roadblocks and implement solutions to keep teams on track.
📚 Requirements
  • Proven experience leading and developing engineering teams in fast‑paced, high‑growth environments.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills. You know how to align team efforts with company goals and manage multiple streams of work effectively.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You foster clarity, collaboration, and psychological safety within the team.
  • Passion for mentoring engineers and supporting their professional growth through feedback, coaching, and career development planning.
  • Experience driving engineering excellence through rituals, processes, and continuous improvement.
  • A solid technical background to guide technical conversations, evaluate trade‑offs, and support informed decision‑making.

  • You come from a technical background - ideally in software engineering, where you were a hands‑on IC
