Penske Truck Leasing seeks highly motivated and qualified applicants to fill the unique position of Hiker (Vehicle Transporter/Truck Driver). This role is responsible for vehicle delivery and returning vehicles to Penske locations and customers. Primarily the position moves our box trucks up to 26’ and for CDL Class A includes tractors and trailer movement. The role may also assist the service department by delivering parts and equipment.

This is a casual/on‑call part‑time truck driving job ideal for licensed CDL Class B or CDL Class A drivers seeking supplemental income, working 0 to 25 hours a week based on business needs.

The position will be located at the Penske facility at 33 Perry Road, Bangor, ME.

• Follow appropriate safety procedures while driving trucks to Penske or customer locations.
• Inspect vehicles to ensure mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment function properly; report any issues to the location manager.
• Obtain receipts or signatures for delivered goods and collect payment for services when required.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to vehicles.
• Complete other projects and tasks assigned by the supervisor.

• 2 years of driving experience.
• 2 years of a clean DMV motor vehicle record.
• Valid Class B CDL is required; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
• CDL Class A license is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to work independently, possess customer service skills, organizational skills, and a positive attitude.
• English language proficiency (required for federal compliance).
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential job function.
• Compliance with DOT regulations, including a current driver qualification file, annual MVR check, DOT Physical, and safety performance history records.
• CDL holders must pass a DOT drug screening within 30 days of start and be subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, complete the Penske employment application, and undergo background investigation and drug screening.

• Must meet the described physical and mental demands; reasonable accommodations may be made.
• Must see and hear; vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must move frequently, stand, walk, sit, and use hands; must regularly lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg).
• Must legally operate a motor vehicle and safely enter/exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
