Overview

The Community Connector is owned and operated by the City of Bangor and provides service to our region including Bangor, Brewer, Hampden, Veazie, Old Town, Orono, and UMaine. We operate six days a week and some holidays, providing important, safe, affordable, and reliable transportation services. Be sure to check out our newly built Transit Center in Downtown Bangor with dedicated space for our drivers and passengers alike!
In this position, you will be guaranteed 30+ hours per week and have options to earn overtime. The pay range for this position is based on experience and qualifications: $21.05 - $28.96/hr

This position comes with a great benefits package, which includes:

Responsibilities are aligned with fixed route transit driving and paratransit services, including operating assigned routes safely, serving the public professionally, and supporting efficient transportation within the service area.
QualificationsApplicants must have an active Class B license and a clean driving record. Preference is given to candidates who also have a Passenger or "P" endorsement, but the City provides paid training to applicants with a Class B who do not have a "P" endorsement. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule and enjoy working with the public. Work assignments are based on a twice-a-year bidding process as outlined in the collective bargaining agreement.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required. Successful applicants will be subject to further testing in accordance with federal F.T.A. regulations.
