Family Time Coach - Penobscot​/Piscataquis

Become a part of our Family Enrichment Team! Penquis, a social services agency that has been supporting Penobscot, Piscataquis, and Knox counties for over 50 years, is looking for a full-time (40 hours per week; eligible for benefits) Family Time Coach. As the Family Time Coach, you are offering guidance and feedback to parents to enhance and refine their parenting skills. Additionally, you will collaborate with children and their parents/guardians to address challenges and improve communication.

The Family Time Coach provides supervised visitation in families’ homes and communities utilizing a coaching model to promote healthy relationships and in accordance with each family’s Family Visitation Plan.

This is a hybrid position based in our Bangor office, with travel throughout Penobscot and Piscataquis counties.

• Provide home and community-based visit coaching to assist families.
• Implement specialized training in a national coaching model and receive supervision from a licensed clinician.
• Work effectively as part of a team, interacting and sustaining positive collaborations and partnerships with families, DHHS, and resource parents.
• Provide intensive, home and community-based therapeutic skill-building to parents, with a focus on empowerment, empathy, responsiveness, and active parenting while maintaining child safety.

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field.
• 1–2 years of documented experience working with children and families.
• Reliable, insured transportation and proof of automobile insurance.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and computer skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings.
• Upon hire and periodically thereafter, must comply with Penquis background‑check requirements with satisfactory results as outlined in current contract provisions.

The rate of pay for this position starts at $21.47 per hour, and additional compensation may be considered with relevant experience.
