Experience:

Minimum of 1 year Intermediate/PCU level of care experience or 2 years Med/Surg experience with some PCU.

Active Registered Nurse License

Certifications:

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have:

Experience with trauma patients, stroke patients, and performing Q2H neuro checks.

Description:

As soon as possible start needed.

Level II Trauma Center with air flight capability.

Facility provides care for trauma patients including neuro strokes and stable craniotomies.

Patient care includes those with respiratory illnesses and long-term tracheostomy patients on vents.

Care for conditions such as COPD exacerbation, post-op general surgery, and sepsis.

Patient types include cardiac patients such as those with STEMI, NSTEMI, CHF, and AFIB with RVR.

Patient ratios are RN: 1:3-4 and Tech: 1:6-12 dependent on staffing.

Charge experience is preferred.

Neuro/Trauma experience is necessary.

Skills required include managing high-flow oxygen, chest tubes, wound vacs, and general drain/ostomy care.

Ability to start IVs and manage trached patients on ventilators is essential.

Knowledge of cardiac drips and ability to titrate insulin is required.

Resource nurse, hospitalist, and respiratory therapy are available 24/7 for support.

Charting system preferred is Cerner.

Floating may occur to other departments as necessary.

Weekend rotation is every other weekend.

Time off requests must go through the manager.

Holiday expectations vary based on unit needs.

Scrub color must be professional.
