Rayus Radiology is looking for a Front Office Associate to join our team. This role provides essential front‑office services to patients and referring professionals, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, greeting and registering patients, and performing a variety of supportive duties.
This is a temporary/PRN position with varying shifts as required from 6:30 AM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Sunday.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Registration (55%)- Greets and checks in patients scheduled for imaging services; registers demographic information and processes payment plans and copays.
- Answers calls and handles them efficiently and courteously.
- Channels calls appropriately for center associates.
- Acts as liaison between technologists and patients waiting for exams and relays updates on scanner status and other clinic information.
- Maintains the front‑office lobby area by straightening magazines, organizing coffee supplies, and assisting with general office clean‑up.
- Orders office supplies as needed.
- Maintains a supply of patient information sheets.
- Pushes imaging requests via electronic interfaces.
- Completes confirmation calls and provides preparation instructions to patients.
- Faxes reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested.
- Verifies patient’s insurance.
- Pre‑certifies all exams with the patient’s insurance company.
- Obtains insurance authorization.
- Uses knowledge of insurance carriers (e.g., Medicare) and procedures that require waivers to obtain authorization before appointment.
- Handles release‑of‑information requests from patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies following company guidelines.
- Arranges transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when appropriate.
- Enters and submits patient exam orders.
- Verifies orders match exam schedules.
- Schedules referrals and ensures proper authorizations are obtained.
- Schedules walk‑in patients.
- Processes requests for image orders and CDs from referring physicians and patients.
- Maintains an up‑to‑date and accurate database of all current and potential referring physicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
