Overview
The HU Healthcare Studies Program seeks qualified candidates to teach courses in Introduction to Healthcare Studies, Medical Terminology, Public Health, and Healthcare Law and Ethics. Assignments may require teaching day, evening, or online classes as needed.
Examples of Duties- Adjunct Professor – Introduction to Healthcare Studies:
Teach the online course covering the structure of the U.S. healthcare delivery system, key policy issues, and financing models. - Adjunct Professor – Medical Terminology:
Deliver the online course providing a comprehensive vocabulary of medical language by analyzing root forms, prefixes, and suffixes. - Adjunct Professor – Public Health:
Teach the course in both face‑to‑face and online formats, introducing students to current public health fields and agency structures. - Adjunct Professor – Healthcare Law and Ethics:
Provide instruction in a traditional face‑to‑face format with an online option within 18 months, covering major laws, regulations, and ethical principles.
- Doctoral or master’s degree in public health, health administration, health policy, or a related field (Introduction to Healthcare Studies).
- Doctoral or master’s degree in a clinical health profession, public health, medical education, or closely related field (Medical Terminology).
- Doctoral or master’s degree in a clinical health profession, public health, medical education, or closely related field (Public Health).
- Doctoral or master’s degree in public health, health administration, health policy, ethics, or a related field (Healthcare Law and Ethics).
- Undergraduate Course – Masters Prepared: $933.33 maximum per credit hour.
- Undergraduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour.
- Graduate Course – Masters Level Prepared: $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour.
- Graduate Course – Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared: $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour.
- Rate depends on the number of students enrolled in the assigned course.
