Overview
The HU College of Science and Humanities seeks an adjunct instructor with a Master’s Degree in Sociology or related field or at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology or Anthropology. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching face to face and online and experience teaching one of the following courses:
Introduction to Sociology, Contemporary Social Issues, and/or Cultural Anthropology. Applicants should complete the application and send a current curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching effectiveness, and list of references. Teaching opportunities will be dependent upon the needs of the University. Assignments may require teaching day, evening, or online classes as needed.
We are currently seeking to create an applicant pool for Introduction to Sociology, Contemporary Social Issues, and Cultural Anthropology. Applications will be reviewed on an as‑needed basis. To keep the applicant pool up to date, please reapply each academic year.
Typical QualificationsCandidates should have a Master’s Degree in Sociology or a related field or at least 18 graduate hours in Sociology. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching face to face and online and experience teaching one of the following courses:
Introduction to Sociology, Contemporary Social Issues, and/or Cultural Anthropology.
Undergraduate Course:
Masters Prepared $933.33 maximum per credit hour*
Undergraduate Course:
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour*
Graduate Course:
Masters Level Prepared $1,016.67 maximum per credit hour*
Graduate Course:
Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,100.00 maximum per credit hour*
* Rate is dependent upon the number of students enrolled in the course assigned.
Lab Sections Undergraduate:
Masters Prepared $1,150.00 per credit hour, Doctoral or Equivalent Prepared $1,250.00 per credit hour
