Tax Preparer

Description

We are seeking detail-oriented Tax Preparers for ongoing temporary assignments in Bangor, ME. As a Tax Preparer, you will support our clients in organizing, preparing, and filing tax documents during peak tax seasons and throughout the year. This role is perfect for professionals who thrive in fast-paced environments and can quickly adapt to changing client needs.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare and file various federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and businesses

+ Review financial records, such as income statements and documentation of expenditures

+ Ensure compliance with current tax regulations and deadlines

+ Communicate with clients regarding outstanding documents, questions, and return status

+ Identify potential tax credits and liabilities for clients

+ Organize and maintain confidential financial records

+ Stay current on new tax laws and industry changes

Requirements

+ Prior experience preparing tax returns (individual or business)

+ Proficiency in tax software and MS Office Suite

+ Tax certification (EA, CPA, or equivalent) preferred but not required
