An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join the medical nursing speciality to assist with empowering and enabling the ward/department teams to ensure that patient care is delivered to the highest standards of care, utilising research and evidence-based practice, in line with BCUHB Nursing Policies and Procedures and N.M.C. Code of Practice and professional standards and guidance.
MainDuties of the job
Practice Development Nurse in the acute setting plays a vital role in shaping high-quality patient care by supporting clinical excellence, education, and service improvement. This role offers the opportunity to influence practice at the bedside, mentor and inspire staff, and drive evidence-based change across the acute care environment. If you are a motivated, clinically experienced nurse with a passion for learning, leadership, and improving patient outcomes, this is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact.
This is a part time role of 22hrs, on a 3 month secondment, there may be an opportunity to extend this. The hours of work need to be flexible over a 7 day period ( Monday-Sunday).

Person specification Qualifications And/or Knowledge Essential criteria- Registered nurse.
- Evidence of nursing related qualification to degree level
- Post registration experience.
- Teaching/assessing qualification to Postgraduate Diploma
- Good knowledge and understanding of current nursing and education issues
- Demonstrates enthusiasm towards teaching and sharing knowledge
- Broad clinical experience
- Involved in service development and quality issues.
Essential criteria
- Ability to form positive working relationships and work across Divisions & Corporate department.
- Able to present relevant information in a concise form.
- Able to develop a culture of quality within education and training.
- Acts in a way that is consistent with legislation, policies and procedures and abide by the HB Health and Safety policies.
- Have an understanding of ESR
