Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Endoscopy Department for a Full‑time Band 6 who is professional, enthusiastic and innovative and has an interest in JAG accreditation. The successful candidate should demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude and possess the skills and experience to provide clinical leadership to ensure care is delivered effectively and efficiently within the unit. Evidence of experience within endoscopy is essential.

duties of the job

The post holder will be a competent clinical staff member who provides effective leadership in support of the unit manager and deputy manager, supervising a team of nurses to ensure the best standards of specialised care. Working collaboratively and co‑operatively with the unit manager and Matron, the candidate will help develop services for patients within the endoscopy unit and be responsible for working towards and maintaining JAG status for the department as part of the multidisciplinary team for gastroenterology.

The successful candidate will bring significant clinical endoscopy experience, documented competency in all aspects of endoscopy nursing, and sound clinical expertise to their team. They will be a role model for expert care, lead specific projects and management functions delegated by the Senior Sister or Charge Nurse, and demonstrate specialist knowledge of JAG/GRS/Decontamination. They will provide advice, guidance and be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for all patients within the Endoscopy Department.
