Honeycomb are delighted to be working with Ards and North Down Borough Council to recruit for a temporary Grants Administrator to work within their Sports and Leisure team.
Job Title: Temporary Full-Time Grants Administrator with the sports development department
Location: Ards and North Down Borough Council
Hourly Rate: £14.32 per hour
Hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm, Monday to Thursday 9am-4.30pm Friday

Ards and North Down Borough Council is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Grants Administrator to support the effective delivery and administration of grant funding programmes across the Borough.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with a background in grants or financial administration to contribute to meaningful community initiatives while gaining valuable local government experience.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive administrative support including word processing, audio typing, spreadsheet, and database management, and maintaining filing systems.
- Handle general enquiries from members of the public in a professional and timely manner.
- Deliver secretarial and administrative support to your designated line manager.
- Process financial systems, including cash handling responsibilities.
- Utilise ICT systems and programmes effectively.
- Collate and produce management information, Committee and Council reports as directed.
- Attend meetings and formally record accurate minutes.
- Monitor inventories, conduct stock checks, assist with purchasing, and prepare quotations.
- Manage complaints in line with the Council's Customer Complaints Policy.
- Support the updating and maintenance of the Council's website.
- Provide cross-team support to ensure deadlines are met.
- Promote and comply with equality, health & safety, and all Council policies.
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the grade of the post as required.
- GCSE Grade A-C (or equivalent)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with the public and colleagues.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, MS Teams)
- Flexible, proactive and deadline-driven approach
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in grants or financial administration
- Experience using Excel for data entry and reporting.
- Experience in file management and maintaining accurate records.
- Competitive hourly rate of £14.32
- Monday-Friday schedule with no weekend work
