Overview
Activity Support Co-Ordinator - Part Time - 15 Hours per week. This is a Fixed Term opportunity to cover Maternity Leave, we anticipate this role will be for 9-12 months up to January 2027. However this may be subject to change, based on business needs.
Purpose:
To provide high quality support to people and to mentor, coach and act as a strong role model for other staff in delivering high quality support in order to deliver our Mission:
Positive Futures for people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autism working together to achieve dreams and transform lives.
Form a positive relationship with the person being supported, maintaining appropriate professional boundaries with them and their families and promote and support relationships, which enable people with a learning disability, to be included, and engage in their local community. Ensuring the high-quality, person-centred support (outlined in the persons Person-Centred Portfolio) needed to live the life they want and achieve their dreams/goals.
Support people to understand and make choices and to speak up for themselves, whilst working as part of a team, to learn about the person and share that knowledge with staff and volunteers, to further enhance each persons individual support plan.
The Role
- Complete, co-ordinate and oversee implementation of a range of activities for people we support (these may be activities during the daytime activities, after school/ or college, evenings, weekends and holidays) ensuring activities are varied and meet the needs of people we support.
- Complete and oversee support planners to ensure staffing is planned to meet the needs of people we support.
- Identify and resolve any day-to-day issues that arise in relation to either activity plans or support planners.
- Seek feedback from people we support, staff and other key stakeholders to ensure activity plans and staffing arrangements are effective and meet the needs of people we support.
- Act as strong and positive role models to staff and volunteers
- Provide practical advice and guidance for Community Support Workers and volunteers.
- Conduct regular Person-Centred supervision (1:1 meetings) with Community Support Workers
- Encourage and facilitate the use of person-centred thinking tools and person-centred approaches to inform high-quality Person-Centred Profiles and/or one-page plans
- Plan and coordinate the training needs of Community Support Workers
- Ensure any risks that are identified during support of a person are responded to promptly and escalated in line with Positive Futures Risk Management Framework.
- Be involved in planning and evaluating activities with the people supported.
- 12 months experience of supporting people with a learning disability, acquired brain injury or autistic spectrum condition in recreational activities in a paid or voluntary capacity.
- Experience of planning, organising and implementing activities for children, young people and/or adults.
- Current registration with NISCC or be eligible for registration on appointment.
- Full driving license and access to a car insured for business purposes to transport people supported
- Experience of working as part of a team
- Experience of supervising and supporting other staff or volunteers.
