PurposeTo assist the relevant Community Services Officer to fully and effectively deliver their Strategy and Action Plan, including the implementation of specific projects or programmes as required.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities- To assist the relevant Community Services Officer in the development, implementation and evaluation of plans and programmes relevant to their area of work.
- To assist the Community Services Officer in the preparation and management of budgets and to utilise resources effectively and in compliance with Council financial standing orders and standard operating procedures.
- To assist the Community Services Officer to secure funding from appropriate bodies and to assist in the preparation and administration of evaluations, grant claims, reports and returns to the sponsoring Department and Council.
- To assist the Community Services team to develop and maintain an effective communications programme to publicise the Council's Community Services activities.
- To assist the Community Services Team to develop and maintain co-operation and good working relationships within Council as well as with key personnel in other agencies and all other sectors and to act as an advisor to Council, Senior Council Officers, working groups and project teams.
- To assist in the design, development and delivery of appropriate training programmes, seminars, conferences, public consultation, information events and activities, including the preparation and delivery of presentations. To assist with the implementation of specific projects or programmes as required.
- To assist in the co-ordination and integration of the Council's work in the promotion of equality of opportunity and good relations.
- To comply with and promote equality, health and safety and employee development in compliance with Council human resources policies and legal requirements
- To undertake any other appropriate duties as may be allocated from time to time in accordance with the general nature of the post.

QualificationsESSENTIAL
- Two A-levels or equivalent
DESIRABLE
- A level 4 qualification
ESSENTIAL
- At least 1 years relevant administrative experience which includes organising and prioritising a demanding workload
- At least 1 years experience demonstrating a high standard of accuracy in maintaining detailed records
- At least 1 years experience working in a relevant Community field e.g. Peace / Policing and Community Safety (PCSP)/ Community to include assisting with project delivery
- At least 1 years experience monitoring and evaluating projects
- At least 1 years experience using MS Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point
- Experienced in formal minute taking
DESIRABLE
- Collation of management information
- Additional years experience in a relevant field e.g. Peace/ PCSP/ Community which includes assisting with project delivery
- Additional years experience monitoring and evaluating projects
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding and appreciation of the differing needs and requirements of individuals and groups
- Ability to handle challenging situations/behaviours in a political environment
- Ability to produce accurate and detailed work to tight deadlines
- The ability to work as part of a team
- A valid driving licence with access to a form of transport that will allow fulfilment of the duties of the post or have access to a suitable form of transport which will enable the post holder to meet the requirements of the post*
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends as required
