Overview

Electrical Controls Engineer - West Yorkshire - Permanent - PLC - £55-68k + overtime for site work. Samuel Frank is recruiting for an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer with excellent PLC programming skills to join a Leeds based specialist engineering business on a staff basis.

Electrical Controls Engineer role will suit an experienced person who has “been there and done it” with broad experience, who can lead small projects and help guide lesser experienced members of the team. Opportunity to work on systems for large scale, high value projects with the prospect for the successful Electrical Controls Engineer to progress into the Lead role in the department.

• Knowledge & understanding of Siemens TIA Portal desirable - experience of other PLC manufacturers will be considered (80% of the work is Siemens/20% Allen Bradley)
• Proven experience in PLC programming - Ladder, Structured Text and Function Blocks
• Experience in WinCC and HMI designs
• Electrical Controls Engineer will have the ability to read and understand electrical drawings - essential requirement, any experience of modifying existing electrical drawings would be useful
• Functional Safety and Safety PLC knowledge
• SIL knowledge - nice to have
• Knowledge of Electrical controls legislation - essential
• Site work will be mainly UK based with some international travel expected too - Controls Manager estimates roughly 1-2 months per year split over various trips as a good guide for expected time away
• Role is office based when not working on site - company is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire
• Working week is 37 hrs per week - flexible start/finish times, can accrue hours Mon-Thur and finish at lunchtimes on Fridays. Can start early/finish early etc. to work around other commitments
• UK driving licence - essential
