As a specialist in medicinal chemistry, you will play a crucial role in the design, synthesis, and optimization of novel drug candidates. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to advance drug discovery projects from hit identification to preclinical development. Your expertise in medicinal chemistry will be instrumental in developing innovative therapeutics to address unmet medical needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and synthesize novel small molecules to target specific disease indications
Utilize structure-activity relationships (SAR) and other medicinal chemistry principles to optimize the potency, selectivity, and pharmacokinetic properties of lead compounds
Collaborate with computational chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to design and prioritize new chemical entities for synthesis and biological evaluation
Perform literature searches and analyze scientific literature to identify and implement new synthetic methodologies and technologies
Contribute to the preparation of patent applications, technical reports, and scientific publications
Stay abreast of the latest developments in medicinal chemistry and drug discovery to drive innovation and excellence in the field
Qualifications And Experience
Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, or related field with 2-5 years of industry experience, or M.S. with 5-10 years of industry experience
Strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, and chemical biology
Proficiency in modern synthetic methods, purification techniques, and analytical instrumentation
Demonstrated track record of successful contributions to drug discovery projects and a deep understanding of the drug development process
Excellent problem-solving skills, scientific creativity, and a passion for innovation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
