Within Azure Data, the big data analytics team provides a range of products that enable data engineers and data scientists to extract intelligence from all data – structured, semi-structured, and unstructured. We build the Data Engineering, Data Science, and Data Integration pillars of Microsoft Fabric.

The Data Engineering Lakehouse team is hiring software engineers who are passionate about building modern, scalable web experiences and robust data platform architecture for storing, managing, and analyzing large-scale structured and unstructured data.

Our team builds the front-end and platform experiences that power the Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse—enabling customers to ingest, transform, govern, and analyze data  design and deliver highly reliable, flexible, and performant systems that serve as the foundation for data engineering and analytics workloads across the Microsoft ecosystem.

You will work at the intersection of distributed systems, data platforms, and user experience, collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and partner teams to deliver end-to-end solutions that integrate seamlessly with broader data management and analytics tools.

Responsibilities

Design and deliver robust, scalable web experiences that remain reliable and performant while operating over large, complex data systems.
Drive technical design and implementation decisions, balancing performance, reliability, usability, and long-term maintainability.
Own and evolve key components or feature areas, ensuring high quality through thoughtful design, testing, and operational rigor.
Collaborate across frontend, backend, and platform teams to shape cohesive end-to-end solutions and influence shared technical direction.
Raise the engineering bar through design reviews, code reviews, and mentorship, contributing to strong and consistent engineering practices.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
