To lead release quality, prevent production failures, and build a disciplined QA culture.
Quality at Speed Radio is not reactive. It is engineered into the release process.
This is not just a tester role.
This is a quality leadership role.
You will protect releases, mentor junior QA engineers, and enforce structured testing processes across mobile builds.
Core Responsibilities:
Mobile Quality Leadership
Own end-to-end QA for Android and iOS releases
Define release readiness criteria and quality gates
Create structured mobile testing strategies for every sprint
Drive accountability for zero critical defects in production
Functional, Regression & Exploratory Testing
Lead structured functional and regression testing cycles
Design high-coverage test scenarios including edge cases
Validate UI behavior, state management, network handling, and performance
Ensure compatibility across OS versions, devices, and screen sizes
Bug Handling & Risk Management
Evaluate severity vs impact before release
Make go / no-go release recommendations
Escalate risks proactively
Support hotfix validation and emergency releases
Ensure root cause analysis for major defects
API & Backend Validation
Validate APIs using Postman or similar tools
Test negative scenarios (invalid tokens, missing payloads, error handling)
Ensure frontend-backend integration stability
Team Leadership & Mentorship
Lead and mentor junior QA engineers
Review test cases and bug reports for clarity and completeness
Enforce documentation standards and testing discipline
Assign modules and ensure ownership within the QA team
Improve QA velocity and quality metrics
Automation & Process Improvement
Identify automation opportunities in regression flows
Collaborate with engineering on automation strategy
Improve release reliability and testing efficiency
Quality Expectations
No critical defects should reach production
No release moves without QA sign-off
No poorly documented bugs
No regression missed due to lack of structure
What This Role Is Not
Not a passive manual tester
Not someone who waits for instructions
Not someone who only executes pre-written test cases
This role requires leadership, judgment, and ownership.
Ideal Profile
5+ years of QA experience with strong mobile testing exposure
Experience leading or mentoring QA teams
Hands-on Android and iOS testing experience
Strong understanding of SDLC and defect lifecycle
Experience in fast-paced or startup environments preferred
Ability to independently make release decisions
