About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Agri-Tech SME to provide expert-level guidance and support to our clients in the agriculture industry. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of agricultural technology, including precision farming, crop monitoring, and farm management systems. As a Domain Consultant, you will leverage your industry understanding and domain expertise to recognize key trends impacting the clients, identify transformation levers, design or contribute to the next generation IT-led solutions, and facilitate solution deployment.

You may be part of or lead a small to medium sized team in this context. Additionally, you will also work on sales pursuits and market development activities, thought leadership tasks and other org-wide initiatives.

Responsibilities

Understand complex client scenarios and functional landscape to identify problems and assess the business impact.
Drive business workshops to define the scope and envision improvements.
Define requirements and elaborate functional specifications for an IT solution.
Explore AI and Gen AI interventions in the solution design.
Document AS-IS and TO-BE business processes and enablers.
Work with Product Owners and business stakeholders to analyze requirements and prepare Product Backlog items.
Prepare user stories and define acceptance criteria.
Act as a bridge between the business stakeholders and the technology solution team from definition through deployment wearing multiple roles through the phases.
Contribute to sales pursuits and market development initiatives, working with the sales and account teams.
Build comprehensive proposals from inception to submission, owning up the domain/functional contents.
Drive thought leadership and innovation tracks – industry solution, partnership, publication and speaker events.
Lead org/unit initiatives.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, computer science, life science, business or related field.
Any relevant industry certification such as SAFe, CSPO, CSM, Six Sigma, APICS, SCOR, PMP etc. is a plus.

Required Skills

10-15 years of relevant experience as a Domain Consultant / Business Consultant/Business Analyst.
Extensive experience in at least one of the below industry segments with awareness of latest industry trends:
Precision farming
Crop monitoring, farm management system
Agri input, Agrochemical, crop protection – chemicals and biologicals, agrochemical production
Food and beverages
Seed R&D
Dairy
At least one of the below domains/areas:
Digitization and digital transformation of business functions and processes
Research & Development
Agile project experience related to AI / Gen AI / ML/ Analytics/ Data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills

Experience in driving meetings/workshops with senior business stakeholders.
Conversant with design-thinking based, agile lightweight approaches such as customer personas, customer journeys, story maps etc.
Global exposure and experience in a multi-cultural environment.
Experience in Software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies.

Experience with tools such as Confluence, JIRA, VISIO, BALSAMIQ, MURAL, FIGMA, RALLY etc.
