About

The Role

Our global security operations never sleep, and we need someone in Asia who can truly own our security posture there. We're looking for a seasoned Information Security Lead to anchor our operations in the Asia region. This isn't just about technical expertise; it's about leadership, mentorship, and ensuring our security program runs seamlessly. You'll be the point person, the mentor, and the expert building out our capabilities on the ground.

We're a passionate, growing Infosec team dedicated to protecting Ampere's intellectual property and assets globally. While we're tightly knit, our operations span the globe, and that means we need senior, autonomous leaders in key regions.

This role is crucial: you'll be the primary security operations lead for our Asia teams, taking ownership of incident response, threat detection, and security automation in that time zone. You'll not only be hands-on with critical security systems but also a key leader, mentor, and trainer for junior team members and interns, building out our local expertise. We need someone who can take the reins, make independent decisions, and truly lead.

What you'll achieve:

This role is a blend of leadership, hands-on technical work, and strategic development. You'll be:

Leading Asia Security Operations:
Taking full ownership of our security operations in the Asia region, acting as the primary point of contact and decision-maker for critical security matters during local business hours.
Mentoring and Guiding:
Providing mentorship, training, and guidance to junior team members and interns. You'll help them grow their skills, foster a culture of security, and ensure our Asia team is strong and capable.
Driving Regional Strategy:
Developing and implementing security best practices and processes specifically tailored for the Asia region, ensuring they align with our global security standards.
Incident Response & Threat Management:
Overseeing and actively participating in responding to cyber threats impacting Ampere's networks, systems, and data within the Asia region, from initial detection to resolution. You'll be conducting advanced security monitoring, threat intelligence analysis, and forensic investigations, making independent judgments on appropriate actions.
Building Automation:
Designing, developing, and implementing advanced SOC and IR automation and orchestration solutions using scripting (Python, Power Shell, BASH) and APIs. Your focus will be on improving efficiency and reducing manual effort for the Asia team.
Enhancing Detection:
Developing and refining sophisticated security content for our SIEM, including complex threat detection logic, rules, and operational dashboards.
Managing Priorities:
Handling the backlog of SOAR integration and automation requests for the Asia team, making sure we're balancing immediate needs with long-term capability building.
Documentation &

Collaboration:

Documenting SOAR workflows, scripts, and code, maintaining a high standard of code repository management. You'll also work closely with our global detection engineering and threat detection/response teams to align regional priorities and contribute to our overall security strategy.

About You

You're likely someone who thrives in a leadership position, enjoys mentorship, and has a strong technical background. Specifically, you'll bring:
Significant

Experience:

Masters degree with 6 years or Bachelor's degree with 8 years in Computer Science or Information Security with a strong focus on security operations and incident response
Proven Leadership:
Demonstrable experience in a leadership or senior mentorship role, ideally managing or guiding a team in a distributed or global environment. You know how to empower others and build a strong team.
Deep SOC/IR Expertise:
At least 5+ years of hands-on experience with SOC/IR processes, using various tools (SIEM, SOAR, XDR) and common cybersecurity frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Kill Chain, and OWASP.
Automation Powerhouse:
Expert-level scripting and development skills. Python is an absolute must-have, along with experience in Power Shell, BASH, or similar. You should have a track record of building robust automation and integrations; SOAR experience is highly valued.
Independent Operator: A demonstrated ability to independently triage security events, conduct thorough investigations, and drive incidents to…
