Senior QA Engineer / SDET
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior QA Engineer / Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our cross-functional technology team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions by combining strong manual and automation testing expertise.
You’ll work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Architects, and Developers in both Agile and Waterfall environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Define testing scope, strategies, test plans, and test cases for projects
- Perform end-to-end testing including functional, regression, integration, performance, security, mobile, UI/UX, and cross-platform testing
- Execute manual testing (black-box & white-box) and automation testing
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts across UI, API, and database layers
- Work with automation tools like Selenium, Cucumber/Spec Flow, Rest Assured, Postman, etc.
- Write and execute SQL queries to validate and prepare test data
- Log, track, and document defects and test results using test management tools
- Identify testing risks and technical challenges early in the project lifecycle
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to meet project milestones
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in QA / SDET / Software Testing
- Experience testing web and desktop applications
- Working knowledge of:
- Java / C# / JavaScript / Python (preferred)
- HTML, CSS, React, ASP .Net
- Databases:
MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL
- Strong experience with automation frameworks and testing tools
- Solid understanding of Agile & Waterfall methodologies
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
⭐ Nice to Have
- Experience with AWS or Azure
- Knowledge of business domains like HR, healthcare, finance, energy, or procurement
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket
- Exposure to BDD, Object-Oriented Design, and modern QA practices
