Job Description - Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Manager

Role

Purpose:

As the Scrum Master / Agile Delivery Manager, your primary responsibility is to enable and drive the successful delivery of product engineering initiatives across multiple agile squads. You will develop an environment of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, ensuring that teams adhere to agile principles and deliver high-quality outcomes aligned with business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, interpersonal, and a deep understanding of agile frameworks to handle dependencies, remove impediments, and optimize delivery flow across squads.

You will act as a leader and mentor, guiding teams to self-organize while ensuring alignment with strategic priorities. The role demands excellent customer management and the ability to balance contending priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Facilitate agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, PI / sprint planning, retrospectives, reviews) across multiple network engineering squads.
Drive delivery excellence by ensuring squads meet commitments and deliver value incrementally.
Remove impediments and handle risks to maintain delivery momentum.
Coordinate dependencies across squads and external teams to ensure seamless integration.
Collaborate with engineering leads to maintain balanced backlogs and prioritize work effectively.
Track and report progress using agile metrics (velocity, burn-down charts, cycle time) to customers.
Promote agile standards and continuous improvement within squads and the wider organization.
Mentor teams and customers on agile principles, encouraging a culture of accountability and visibility.
Ensure alignment of squad results with divisional and product engineering goals and strategic objectives.
Act as a liaison between engineering, product management, and potentially business customers.
Drive initiatives to improve predictability, quality, and time-to-market.
Support adoption of automation, Dev Ops practices, and CI/CD pipelines to accelerate delivery.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or equivalent Degree in a technical or related field.
Proven experience in agile delivery roles (Scrum Master, Agile Coach, Delivery Manager).
Proven track record of managing multiple agile squads in sophisticated engineering environments.
Strong understanding of agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) and scaling practices.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent certification preferred.

Skills Needed:

Excellent facilitation and coaching skills.
Strong interpersonal and coordination abilities for leading multiple teams.
Proficiency in agile tools (Jira, Confluence, Rally).
Ability to analyse delivery metrics and drive data-informed decisions.
Outstanding communication and customer management skills
Good working knowledge and understanding of networks and related technologies.
Proven experience in managing sophisticated technical projects with multiple dependencies.

Preferred

Skills:

Experience in product engineering or software development environments.
Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to scaled agile frameworks and enterprise-level delivery.
