About the Role:

As a Scriptwriter for our Gaming Content IP at YAAS, you'll be creating India's most relatable gaming destination for Hindi-speaking audiences. You'll write short-form, fast-paced scripts that cover what gamers care about today and what they grew up with - from breaking gaming news to nostalgic throwbacks. This role requires deep gaming knowledge, cultural understanding of Indian gamers, and the ability to write opinionated, binge-worthy content that builds daily consumption habits.

Responsibilities:

- Research and write 48-50 high-quality gaming scripts monthly for Instagram Reels and You Tube Shorts.
- Create content covering gaming news, upcoming releases, underrated games, and nostalgia-led hooks.
- Provide editors with specific gameplay footage links, B-roll clips, and visual cues to execute scripts effectively.
- Deliver authentic gamer perspectives that are fast-paced, opinionated, and relatable.
- Analyse performance data and adapt writing approach based on audience response.
- Work collaboratively with editors to ensure smooth content production workflow.
- Manage the script-to-publication process (3-4 hours writing, 3-4 hours production support daily).
- Occasionally interface with the team on content strategy and trending topics.

Qualifications:

- 1-3 years experience creating gaming content with measurable engagement metrics
- Deep understanding of gaming culture - both current trends and nostalgic titles that Indian gamers grew up with.

Required Skills:

- Strong research skills to stay updated on gaming news, releases, and community discussions.
- Excellent Hindi writing abilities without over-reliance on AI tools.
- Understanding of visual storytelling and how gaming scripts translate to fast-paced video edits.
- Demonstrated ability to write scroll-stopping hooks and maintain Retention Rate.
- Experience analysing content performance and adjusting strategy accordingly.
- Knowledge of the Indian gaming market and what resonates with Hindi-speaking audiences.
- Portfolio of previous gaming content showing writing quality and engagement results.

Nice to Have:

- Background in gaming, esports commentary, or gaming community management
- Experience creating content in the Mr. NERF style i,e fast cuts, opinionated takes, nostalgic hooks.
- Personal gaming content channel or portfolio of published viral gaming videos.

- Experience with You Tube Shorts, Instagram Reels gaming strategy.
- Knowledge of video production workflows and how scripts translate to final edits.
- Deep familiarity with games for Indian audiences.

What We're Not Looking For:

- Generic "top 5 games" listicle thinking without cultural context or authentic gamer perspective.
- Inability to distinguish between hype and genuine gaming news or verify sources properly.
- Resistance to learning new games, adapting to Hindi-first content strategy, or testing new formats.
- Slow output or inability to keep pace with fast-moving gaming news cycles.
- Lack of awareness of what's happening in the Indian gaming creator space and what content performs with Hindi audiences.
