Job Overview The Admissions Manager is a senior leadership role responsible for leading the school's admissions strategy, driving consistent year-on-year enrollment growth, and maintaining high conversion rates in a competitive CBSE school environment. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented professional with a strong track record of increasing admissions in reputed schools through strategic planning, effective parent counseling, digital/outreach marketing, team leadership, and excellent relationship management.
This role ensures the school meets or exceeds its annual intake targets while upholding CBSE guidelines, school values, and a positive brand image.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a robust annual admissions strategy and plan to achieve (and exceed) targeted student enrollment numbers across all grades (Pre-Primary to Class X).
Lead the end-to-end admissions process: handling inquiries (phone, email, walk-ins, online), counseling parents/students, conducting campus tours, application processing, assessments/interviews, document verification, fee discussions, and final enrollment.
Build and manage a high-performing admissions team (counselors, coordinators, support staff), providing training, motivation, target setting, performance tracking, and regular reviews.
Drive proactive student recruitment through multi-channel outreach: school website/social media optimization, digital marketing (Google Ads, Facebook/Instagram campaigns), participation in education fairs/expos, tie-ups with feeder schools/playgroups, referral programs, alumni networks, and community events.
Maintain accurate, real-time admissions data using CRM/ERP software (or school management systems); prepare regular reports on pipeline, conversions, drop-offs, retention risks, and forecasts for the management / Principal.
Collaborate closely with Principal, academic heads and finance for aligned branding, fee structuring, scholarship decisions, and compliance with CBSE affiliation norms on admissions.
Oversee student retention initiatives by identifying potential withdrawals early and implementing re-engagement strategies.
Represent the school professionally at external events, parent meets, and networking opportunities to enhance reputation and generate leads.
Ensure strict adherence to ethical practices, CBSE RTE guidelines (where applicable), data privacy, and non-discriminatory admission policies.
Qualifications & Experience
Education:
Bachelor's degree (any discipline) from a recognized university; a postgraduate degree/diploma in Management, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in admissions/enrollment management, with at least 4–5 years in a leadership role (Admissions Manager/Head/Coordinator) in reputed CBSE (or equivalent) schools in India. Proven track record of significantly increasing admissions/enrollment numbers in competitive markets.

Strong sales/marketing orientation with excellent persuasion, negotiation, and objection-handling skills.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written).
Leadership & team management abilities with experience mentoring counselors.
Data-driven decision-making; proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, Google Workspace, and school ERP systems.
Strategic thinker with market analysis and planning expertise.
High energy, target-oriented, resilient under pressure, and passionate about education.
Understanding of CBSE curriculum, school operations, RTE Act, and admission regulations.
