Shift Pattern: 14:00-22:00

The Warehouse Shift Manager is responsible for leading all warehouse operations on a designated shift, overseeing both inbound and outbound functions. This role includes managing a team of Supervisors, MHE drivers, and warehouse operatives to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate handling of goods.

The Shift Manager is also responsible for delivering performance targets and maintaining a high standard of people management, including absence control, performance management, disciplinary investigations, and grievance handling.

As a Shift Manager your responsibilities will include but not limited to;

  • Lead a team of Supervisors and Operatives to hit key targets across goods-in, picking, packing, and dispatch.
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across all warehouse activities.
  • Keep operations running smoothly through effective planning, real-time decision-making, and clear communication between shifts.
  • Manage performance, absence, and development to build a motivated, high-performing team.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, SOPs, and audit standards while maintaining stock integrity and customer satisfaction.
  • Report on shift performance and contribute to operational planning and improvement initiatives.

What we’re looking for in our Shift Managers

  • Significant experience in a warehouse or distribution environment in as supervisor or manager.
  • Proven experience managing both inbound and outbound operations.
  • Strong management skills with experience handling absence, performance, disciplinary, and grievance processes.
  • Skilled in developing teams, coaching supervisors, and driving accountability at all levels.
  • Solid understanding of MHE operations, warehouse WMS systems, and health & safety best practices.
  • Ability to lead under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a focus on accuracy and quality.
