Hydraulic Design Engineer

Zeus Hydratech Limited is looking for a full‑time on‑site Hydraulic Design Engineer located in the south of Bristol.

• Designing both outline concept and detailed hydraulic power units (HPUs)
• Producing hydraulic schematics (preferably with Hydro Sym 2D software)
• Producing general arrangement drawings for HPU design (preferably with Solidworks 3D software but not critical)
• Preparation of detailed flow, pressure and sizing calculations.
• Selection of suitable hydraulic components.
• Preparation of detailed costing sheets.
• Selection of hydraulic fittings (knowledge of metric and BSP fittings is necessary)
• Collaborating with the sales and costing department.
• Providing technical support to internal sales engineers.

• Design Engineering and Mechanical Engineering skills.
• Proficiency in Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) – desirable but not essential.
• Experience in fabrication and stress calculation techniques.
• Knowledge of hydraulic engineering principles.
• Proven experience in hydraulic power unit design.
• Proficiency in hydraulic schematic comprehension and creation.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Relevant industry certifications or training.
