Department Ground Operations
Job Description Ramp Supervisors at Southwest Airlines manage Ramp Agents and ensure aircraft arrive and depart on schedule. They guide the Team, check that safety rules are followed, and keep equipment ready for use. Supervisors handle scheduling, training, and daily reports. They work with other Airport Operations Teams to solve problems and share updates. This role is suitable for someone who enjoys leading people and helping Southwest deliver safe, efficient, and on-time service every day.
Pay& Benefits
Pay of $34.94 to $36.39 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Opportunities for overtime and shift premiums. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.

- Actively coordinate with all Departments to maintain the station's on-time performance, employee morale, and customer satisfaction
- Monitor and guide ground support performance to ensure requirements are met
- Ensure all equipment including GSE is maintained and available for the operation
- Oversee day-to-day airport operations to create a safe, secure, and compliant environment; meet or exceed performance goals; manage gate control and training compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment and implement programs to reduce accidents and injuries
- Coordinate with all Departments to maintain on-time performance and report status updates
- Drive performance processes by forecasting operational situations, monitoring results against key metrics, and ensuring accountability; review delay coding
- Work with staffing to build bids aligned with department goals
- Perform administrative duties (shift bids, assignments, payroll, attendance, overtime monitoring)
- Ensure proper administration of labor contracts and minimize labor disputes
- May perform other duties as directed
- Knowledge of business and management principles, strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and coordination
- Knowledge of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements
- Knowledge of principles for moving people/goods by air and related costs/benefits
- Knowledge of customer service principles and evaluating customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of security operations for protecting people, data, property, and institutions
- Knowledge of administrative procedures and office systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to address performance and safety concerns promptly

Experience- Fully functioning, broad knowledge of Airline Operations
- Must be able to obtain a SIDA badge and meet local airport requirements
- Must possess a current valid U.S. driver’s license
- Must obtain GSC qualification and comply with the DOT drug and alcohol testing program
- May be required to obtain Customs Seal and work on international flights
- Ability to work from a limited space workstation for extended periods
- Ability to communicate in English
- Ability to handle exposure to noise, vibrations, and outdoor conditions
- Ability to use computers and office tools with speed and accuracy
- Ability to lift and move items up to 70 pounds and assist with 40–50 pound weights; frequent bending, kneeling, and climbing
- Maintain a well-groomed appearance per company guidelines
- U.S. citizenship or authorization to work in the United States
- Minimum age 18
- Adherence to company attendance standards
