Role PurposeThe Passenger Assistant agent assists and transports airline passengers who require assistance, including wheelchair support at airports.
What You Will Be Doing- Push wheelchair passengers to and from gates.
- Roll customer‑occupied wheelchairs safely down the jet bridge.
- Ensure wheel brakes are in place before passengers exit the wheelchair.
- Complete any necessary wheelchair or incident reports.
- Follow dispatcher gate orders.
- Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and attend to each passenger's individual needs.
- Work professionally with fellow employees, supervisors, managers, airline staff and airport authorities.
- Exceed customer service standards.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.
- Ability to apply common sense to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions.
- Computer skills to use company systems for primary tasks.
- Fluency in English with excellent reading, writing, and speaking ability.
- Positive, can‑do attitude that remains calm under pressure.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work on a ticket counter or gate check‑in.
- Availability to work various shifts, including outside weather conditions.
- Strong customer service and verbal communication skills.
- High school graduate or GED (preferred).
- Eligibility to obtain an airport badge and pass a criminal background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license and U.S. work eligibility for individuals 18+ years old.
- Learn new tasks quickly.
- Understand and execute oral and written instructions; seek clarification when needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Build and maintain professional relationships.
- Physical demands: continuously stand and walk for 6–8 hours; push passengers of significant weight; lift up to 70 lbs.; push and pull 200+ lbs. on an incline; bend, stretch, twist, squat, and reach.
