Position Summary
The Scorers Table Crew Staff plays a vital role in the smooth operation of sports games by maintaining accurate records, managing the game clock, and assisting officials with scoring and administrative tasks. This position requires attention to detail, punctuality, and a solid understanding of the rules of the sports of Volleyball and Basketball.
This role pays an hourly rate of $25.00.

About The Venue
Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena is located on the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. The 5,000-seat arena is the home to the UMBC Retriever Men’s and Women’s basketball teams and Women’s volleyball. The multi-purpose venue is managed by Oak View Group and hosts a variety of events including concerts, commencements, family shows, community events, consumer shows, featured speakers, and banquets.
Responsibilities- Record points scored, fouls, timeouts, and substitutions accurately.
- Operate the game clock and scoreboard in coordination with referees.
- Maintain the official game score sheet or digital scoring system.
- Confirm scores with referees and coaches during breaks or disputes.
- Ensure the scorers table is set up before the game and cleared after.
- Communicate clearly with referees, coaches, and other scorers.
- Monitor player fouls and notify officials if disqualification limits are reached.
- Stay focused and impartial throughout the event.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Prior experience in scorekeeping or familiarity with the sport (Volleyball & Basketball) rules.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and remain professional.
- Basic math and computer skills for digital scoring systems.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Punctual and reliable attendance.
