JOB DESCRIPTION

Seeking a highly motivated and driven Senior Software Engineer to work Onsite supporting enterprise IT for our War-fighter customer who upholds America's status as the "Land of the Free" every day, at work, or at play.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain software requirements and specifications.
• Review and evaluate vendor software specifications, requirements, designs, and architecture proposals.
• Provide recommendations for software enhancements to improve performance, sustainability, architecture, and interoperability.
• Identify and advise on strategies to mitigate software obsolescence.
• Coordinate with vendors on software and system integration, testing, and demos.
• Collaborate with external program offices to ensure effective technical exchange and interoperability with solutions.
• Engage with customers to understand evolving requirements and mission objectives.
• Work closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, and Dev Ops teams to align technical solutions with user needs and deployment solutions.

REQUIREMENTS

• 8 years of software engineering experience, performing software requirements gathering, analysis, software design, software coding, software integration and software testing.
• Experience leading technical software design and code reviews to maintain engineering standards.
• Experience promoting software engineering excellence, including test coverage, maintainability, and clean code principles.
• Experience conducting analysis of software defects and evaluating vendor recommendations for resolution.
• Experience promoting the design and implementation of automated software testing strategies, including unit, integration, and system tests.
• Experience in collaborating with QA teams to ensure robust software validation and verification processes.
• Experience in monitoring and reporting on software system performance, reliability, and scalability profiles to identify limitations and areas of improvement.
• Experience coordinating with Cyber Security SMEs to ensure software adherence to cybersecurity standards and relevant compliance frameworks.
• Experience participating in cyber security assessments, red team assessments, and developing plans for vulnerability remediation.
• Experience promoting and ensuring secure coding practices.
• Experience participating in Agile and SAFe team processes, including Sprint reviews, Backlog Grooming and Program Increment Planning.
• Experience promoting and facilitating the implementation of a government owned Dev Sec Ops  software factory.
• Experience managing, tracking, and reporting of software development metrics to support transparency and progress.
• Experience in leading process improvement efforts for software-related workflows and delivery.
• Experience utilizing and promoting modern workflow and collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience developing, documenting, and implementing software acquisition development and sustainment plans.
• Experience supporting, reporting, briefing, and providing status updates to IPT, PMA, PEO, and sponsor leadership.
• Experience participating in developing cost estimates, schedules, and risk management strategies for software activities.
• Experience with providing Software Engineering inputs to IPT contracting efforts including preparing SOWs, developing CDRLs, developing IGCEs, and conducting CDRL reviews.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate at all levels within an organization, with effective interpersonal skills and an ability to resolve conflicting views and information.

EDUCATION

• BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering or an Information Technology. Allowable Substitution: 6 years of related experience or 4 years of related experience with an AA/AS degree

COMPENSATION
