You are an experienced React Native engineer who loves a greenfield opportunity. You will lead our efforts to take the Yahoo Weather apps to the next level. You are comfortable being one of the first members of a newly formed team. You enjoy startup opportunities inside established companies. You love to collaborate with product designers to understand customer problems and deliver great user experiences.

You are highly self‑sufficient but also thrive when working together with teammates. And you enjoy sprints and spikes as much as strategy.

As a mobile Tech Lead you'll play a critical role in delivering innovation and growth for Yahoo Weather by taking charge of the technical direction and execution of our mobile applications. Your technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision will drive the success of our product roadmap and contribute to the overall growth of the company. You will work closely with the product and design teams to plan, experiment and release features in collaboration with other engineering partners and business stakeholders.

You will be responsible for technical oversight, performing code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and security. • Lead the development of greenfield React Native applications for Yahoo Weather on iOS and Android
• Define and implement scalable, robust, and maintainable mobile application architecture and system design
• Collaborate closely with design and product colleagues to build a delightful, user‑centric experience while balancing the needs of Yahoo's business
• Code – you will spend most of your time using React Native and native code where needed
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to development teams to ensure adherence to architectural principles, coding standards, and best practices
• Evaluate third‑party tools, frameworks, and APIs for integration into mobile applications, considering factors such as security, performance, and scalability
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in mobile application development processes, tooling, and automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and time‑to‑market
• Act as a technical mentor and coach to mobile developers and web developers, fostering a culture of learning, innovation, and excellence within the development team
• Communicate complex technical concepts and technical decisions effectively to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, including senior management and external partners
• Evangelize new frameworks and technologies that can help other Yahoo teams increase the speed of mobile app development

• 8+ years of proven experience in developing, architecting, and deploying mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms
• Proficiency in React Native development
• Extensive experience with or willingness to learn AI‑assisted development
• Excellent coding skills and practitioner of mobile development best practices, including object‑oriented design principles; design pattern usage; writing modular, reusable, testable code; data structures; concurrency; performance profiling and tuning
