Job Title:
Bilingual Learning Home Visitor
Salary: $26.26/hour
Work schedule:
Monday‑Friday 8:00‑4:00pm
- Conduct home visits five days per week, meeting with parents and children twice weekly for 30‑minute sessions, ensuring consistent engagement and service delivery.
- Demonstrate warmth, patience, and a culturally responsive approach through active, empathetic listening, validation of family experiences, and individualized service delivery; ability to communicate and write in Spanish required.
- Maintain required home visiting materials and proactively inform the coordinator of supply needs (e.g., program materials, raincoat, rolling crate, floor mat) to ensure preparedness for all visits.
- Complete required program and data management training (initial 16 hours) prior to working with families and participate in weekly two‑hour reflective coaching sessions; maintain ongoing professional development in Early Childhood Education.
- Maintain accurate, confidential case files, including weekly home visit reports, tracking of materials delivered, and documentation of completed and missed visits, referrals, and assessments to monitor family progress throughout program cycles.
- Attend quarterly meetings with the Regional Director and West Baltimore Parent Child+ team to share community resources and support ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience in early childhood education, home visiting, family support services, or a closely related field.
- Training certifications and knowledge of BRIDGE, DAISY, and Relias – preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English, offering effective communication across diverse populations.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills with a courteous and professional demeanor towards staff, clients, and visitors.
- Maintains a safe environment for patients and co‑workers by following established safety protocols, promptly addressing hazards, and promoting a culture of accountability to ensure the well‑being of all individuals in the workplace.
- Protects private health information in accordance with HIPAA of 1996; disclosures are permitted only with appropriate authorization.
- Displays excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Effectively relates to and provides compassionate care for individuals with diverse personalities and needs.
- Demonstrates patience and composure when working with children and interacting with parents, fostering positive relationships.
- Utilizes a strong understanding of early childhood teaching strategies to support developmental growth and learning.
- Effectively connects with children, creating an engaging and enjoyable environment.
- Proficient in computer systems and software, including basic Windows PC, web browsing (Chrome, Internet Explorer, etc.), Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Box – preferred.
- Hybrid work options are available, contingent upon business needs and performance expectations in alignment with the Agency’s policy.
- Ascending or descending stairs or other similar structures as required to perform job tasks.
- Positioning oneself in ways to accomplish tasks in various environments, including navigating tight or confined spaces as needed.
- Moving about to accomplish tasks or transitioning between different work sites, which may involve walking, standing, or traveling to various locations as required.
- Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions, which may include lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, or repositioning items as necessary.
- Engage in communication with others to exchange information, which may involve speaking, listening, writing, or using electronic communication methods to ensure clear and effective understanding.
- Perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers, such as typing, data entry, or handling small objects.
