The Mobile Diesel Mechanic II will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, diagnostic work, and any additional duties as assigned. This role requires a blend of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic troubleshooting in a mobile field environment.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Make minor adjustments and repairs to truck equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling, starter, alternator, fan clutch, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
• Road‑test vehicles to confirm proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and perform periodic reconciliation while using company‑issued service equipment.
• Conduct safety checks and pre‑/post‑trip inspections of the company‑issued service vehicle.
• Work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and manage the daily schedule.
• Document work on Repair Orders (RO) using the TRAIT application; upload photos and record all findings.
• Complete DOT forms, other documentation, and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

• High School Diploma/GED with at least 3 years of related experience (or an equivalent combination such as a higher degree or 5 years of experience).
• Provision of the hand tools needed for job duties.
• Ase T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hiring.
• Successful completion of a DOT‑regulated background screening and DOT physical (or valid DOT medical card).
• Minimum age 21 years; valid state driver’s license and driver qualification file.
