Shop Crane Tech Trainee

Job Location: Baltimore, MD – This position will be located at the Baltimore, MD branch for MGX Equipment Services and reports to the Service Manager.

Compensation and Benefits: Sign‑on bonus of $4,500 after 90 days of continuous service;
Tool Reimbursement Program up to $1,500 per calendar year.

• Under guidance of Service Manager and shop technicians, perform basic shop crane technician duties.
• Assist shop technicians with inspections and repairs.
• Inspect tools and equipment to ensure working order.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience as general laborer or yard worker in construction or heavy equipment industry preferred.
• Mechanical background with electrical and hydraulic experience.
• Self‑starter with initiative to advance; strong customer service orientation.
• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
• May be required to travel to other locations for cross‑training.

• Perform job functions safely.
• Wear all required PPE.
• Follow safety and health procedures.
• Participate in safety training and demonstrate competency.
• Report safety concerns and correct unsafe acts.

This is a full‑time position with typical hours 7:00 am‑6:00 pm. Overtime and weekend work may be required. Physical demands include lifting up to 40 pounds, frequent climbing, stooping, crouching, and exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, noise, and unpleasant odors. Pay range $19.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on skills and qualifications for non‑bargaining employees. Pay is bi‑weekly. A customized training plan and career path is identified within the first week of employment.
